(Put an empty cigarette pack on your nose for a horn and make loud “snort” noises.) I don’t know why parents don’t do this more often. Usually it makes the kid laugh. Sometimes it sends him into shock. Either way it quiets him down. If you’re a parent, acting like a rhino has another advantage. The stakes have never been higher; VOICE OF THE NORTH

0 Comments | Journal (Newcastle, England), The, April 19, 2010

A NEW dawn has arisen, has it not? So said Mr Blair, when New Labour gained a famous election victory in 1997. We were all swept away by it, but it is clear it was false sincerity and we were all taken in.

Now it is a “future fair for all”, but the last 13 years has shown the initials should stand for, Future Failure Again.

The economic situation is, of course, paramount, but there are many other issues. We have more than 80 of the country’s shrewdest business brains agreeing that any increase in National Insurance will raise employment costs, losing thousands of jobs. Mr Brown added that he had no confidence in those major employers; the problem is, they have no faith in him.

Then we ask, are we content with the way the Government has denigrated this nation? Is there any affinity with the millions of people they have allowed into the country? New Labour will erode 1,000 years of history by moving toward a European superstate and allowing Brussels to redraw the map of the European Union.

Briefly, this confirms that part of southern England will be joined with parts of France to form the TransManch zone. Large swathes of England will join other EU countries to form the Atlantic region and the North Sea region

Solar buying group targets Long Island

Long Island Business News, Jun 25, 2010 by Claude Solnik

Long Island solar customers are getting a new, potentially cheap option that could help bring solar power within reach. But the area’s installers are facing a major challenge launched by a firm based in California, the center of much of the solar industry.

San Francisco, Calif.-based One Block Off the Grid, or 1BOG, this week announced it partnered with Port Chester, NY-based Mercury Solar Systems to provide what it described as discounted systems on Long Island.

1BOG said customers in 12 cities and seven states have used its services for about 1,000 systems ranging from San Antonio, Texas, to Denver, Phoenix, New Orleans and New Jersey.

1BOG negotiates rates with a single installer in a region in return for the promise to bring it business. Installers agree based on the firm’s track record, often marshalling 100 or more accounts in a region.

“The good news is these types of companies are looking at Long Island as an important market,” said Gordian Raacke, executive director of Renewable Energy Long Island. “That means the Long Island solar market has grown up and is moving from the toddler stage to the adolescent years.”

Long Island’s high power costs – among the highest in the nation – and rebates make it a prime target for firms like 1BOG.

“The environment now is very competitive,” Raacke said. “That’s good for consumers. But it’s a challenge for some of the smaller companies.”

By channeling customers to one firm, 1BOG could take away business from others. 1BOG CEO Dave Llorens said 170 customers already expressed interest in the Long Island offer on the company’s website. The firm hopes to interest at least 1,000 customers in order to get the 100 or more installations it hopes for. The firm builds a 25-cent commission per watt into its price.

“In theory it’s good, except there’s extra money going to the other party,” said Marc Clejan, CEO of Southampton-based GreenLogic Energy, which also responded to 1BOGs request for proposals

Well the 2006

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:19 pm

Well the 2006 Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season is about ready to roar, weather patterns are changing the ocean surface temps are heating up and we have some activity forming off the Coast of Africa so it will soon be upon us. It also seems as if we are still busy cleaning up from last year are we not? Indeed, and New Orleans is only one of the places with years of work in re-building to go, while the political forces are afoot to change the Mayor of that fine ?chocolate city? as he calls it?

Recently we addressed this topic in an online think tank and wonder with all that debris, what in the World are they going to do if they get another large category through there during this 2006 Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season? Ever thought of that? Well one of our members has and stated;

?I saw something about New Orleans on the news last night and it seems there is just so much clean-up left and here we are approaching another season. Garbage is going to take flight.?

Indeed with all the lose debris on the ground during the massive clean up mission, it will surely become like self-propelled shrapnel and that is just another disaster waiting to happen and well time is running out.

Next Level Security Systems Releases NLSS HD Media Decoder

0 Comments | Wireless News, Jul 29, 2010

Next Level Security Systems, a physical security company that develops unified, networked security solutions, announced the release of the NLSS HD Media Decoder, an open, full HD decoder on the market for security applications.

“Next Level Security Systems’ HD Media Decoders provide a way to display video from IP cameras and video encoders on LCD, LED and Plasma monitors or televisions,” said Peter Jankowski, Chairman and CEO, Next Level Security Systems. “The technology delivers precise image scaling and enables users to monitor security video more effectively and stream stored or online media when needed.”

NLSS HD Media Decoders can display up to four simultaneous streams of HD 1080p video to a single monitor. It supports multiple video pane layouts including 1×1, 1×2 and 2×2. The NLSS HD Media Decoders can also stream stored media content or available online content, making it ideal for digital signage or viewing video from the Internet. 7.1 Surround Sound audio is also supported with the NLSS HD Media Decoders. When combined with the NLSS Gateway, multiple NLSS HD Media Decoders can be networked to build a multi- display video wall.

The company said the product offers flexibility and openness by supporting common digital video formats such as H.264, MPEG-4 and M- JPEG, and supports most IP cameras and encoders that incorporate ONVIF and PSIA standards, and RSTP protocol. It also includes auto discovery capabilities for most IP-based surveillance cameras and encoders, and is customizable through an API

It is best if

It is best if you seek advice from your veterinarian before deciding on which dog food to feed your dog or puppy.

Two most popular choices of dog foods are:

Dry Dog Food

Feeding your dog with dry dog food, usually in small pieces of kibbles, is perhaps one of the most popular choices among dog owners. However, not all dog food brands use high quality natural ingredients. Ensure to read the label of ingredients listed before purchasing any brands of dog food. Here are some guidelines to help you to have some ideas of what the label actually tells you:

No Preservative, Artificial Colors and Flavors. Generally, natural dog food contains no preservative, artificial colors and flavors. Consumption of these components may be harmful to your dog?s health if taken in a long run. Avoid those that labeled ?chemical additives as a source of flavor?.

Color. Lookout for the color of the dog food, generally dog food made from natural ingredients is in soft earth tones. Existence of other colors like red or green may contain some source of additives.

Type of Meat. Avoid brands that labeled ?ingredients include meat by-product?.

Sports car clubs abound for these little

Sports car clubs abound for these little cars so you have plenty of resources and support. One warning though, when I say project car I mean it. These aren’t everyday drivers, just fun cars for weekends!

There are lots of ways to find sports cars at a decent price including classifieds and free weekly papers as well as auto industry specific publications like Auto Trader. Sometimes you can find real bargains this way. You never know when you will stumble on a bargain due to a divorce or someone being transferred overseas.

Your local mechanic as always is a great source of information for bargains on a used car. People will often tell the mechanic to keep a look out if they know someone who is looking for a car for sale. Usually the mechanic will have done the work on the car as well and can vouch for its reliability.

If they sign up

If they sign up and then you leave them alone, or leave it up to your auto-responder to reply, chances are you?ll have an ?unsubscribe? in no time.

Visitors love freebies, especially if it is something of value. Not only will your visitors get a free newsletter packed with the latest information, tips, and specials, but it?s also a good idea to offer a free ebook related to the content of your site. The newsletter is much more valuable if it is not only an auto-responder series, but also has a touch of your personality entwined in the messages. They are also more effective when they?re not just sales pitches, but offer helpful information that your customers will appreciate. The ebook can be one that you have resell rights to and can brand with your own name and links, or one that you write yourself. If you think you can?t write a book, a good tip is to categorize the articles you write into folders by topic, and then amalgamate the articles into an ebook of your own creation.
